Get growing Breightmet 21st June

I cant really bring myself to complain about the weather too much today as it isn’t raining, this is enough for us as community gardeners and means that we can get on with our work to our hearts content without the worry of being soaked to the bone.
A very productive day today it has to be said.

Much of the morning was spent loading and unloading our trolley at various locations around the estate. Potted tomatoes, courgettes and salad pots were on today’s menu.

We also took delivery of a three ton load of soil to enable us to continue filling our growers beds. In the afternoon we did some seed sowing and planting with some of our growers at different addresses around the estate.

We then called on Damien one of our star growers who lives on Padbury Avenue, Damien has managed to get to grips with food growing with ease and is now reguarly cropping to feed his family with.
