Breightmet Hub: Men in Sheds and sow and grow

An eventful day at Breightmet community food growing Hub today, the men in sheds session began working on a canopy that slots into the entrance side of the shipping container, this extends the workspace when its raining, and provides a shaded work area on very hot days.

The canopy is being made so that it slots into the front of the shipping container and can be put away at the end of each session. One of my jobs today was delivering a Permaculture lunch time learning session at Bolton at Homes HQ the valley, the session was well attended and seemed to spark up some interest in permaculture and growing.

In terms of the growing, we are still in a state of seed sowing high alert both for the Hub and the street growing project and will be sowing seeds relentless for the news month. A big thank you to all who turned up and helped out, and we can only look forward to some better weather in the coming months.
