Get growing Breightmet week 4: a day of toing and froing

The morning began with instant busyness, we unloaded our growers raised beds onto the trolley. and then took delivery of three tons of organic compost, which of course will go into the raised beds.

Once this was out of the way I began delivering stuff to our growers, four bags of compost and some timber for vertical growers for Damien, who has already got stuff growing in his garden.

Followed by a fruit tree, greenhouse, strawberries and potato growing kit for Mark on New Lane, then we nipped next door to Neil’s house where I planted a Pear tree and took some details about things he would like to grow for his family. In the afternoon we continued delivering resources and planting out fruit trees at various addresses on the estate. Of course it rained whilst we were working, but by that time a fair amount of work had been done, and we continued anyway as it wasn’t pounding it down. Our last job of the day was to Film UCAN project officer Rosanne talking about food poverty, the video is here.
