Willow Hey project October the 1st update

An interesting and mixed bag work day at Willow Hey today. I arrived on site shortly after half eight and fed and watered the chickens, and then fed and watered all of the pepper, chill and tomato plants which are dotted about in various greenhouses on the site. Hannah and myself then went round the site tidying up and picking up litter that seems to have mysteriously blown onto the site. In the afternoon we topped up some of the raised beds with compost and sowed our overwintering broad bean crop, again these beans will provide and early crop and will also fix nitrogen into the soil when we crop the beans and leave the roots in the soil. Later In the afternoon Chris Wood, Landrover Dave, and Wynn Hutch returned to the site with some resources that they had swapped with a local youth project, we gave them an old wooden gate in exchange for some timber disks and lots of reclaimed bricks.
