Willow Hey project 3rd September

Once again another mixed bag of a day where work was concerned down on the Willow Hey site. We cleared more short coppices to use as plant support next, sowed Kale, spring cabbage, Giant red Mustard and rainbow chard. Then we moved over onto pinching out tomato leaves, watering the two greenhouses and taking photos of the ground where out new Polytunnel is being installed next Thursday. We also had a few budding young potters making tiny clay houses for our children’s area at the bottom of the site. Weeding was also a priority today, clearing bind weed, horses tail and fire weed. In the late afternoon we nipped out to buy our team some safety boots and work trousers for the coming winter. All in all not a bad days work, and a big thank you to all who came and mucked in.
