Get growing Breightmet 25th August

Our day began today with myself and Ian loading up wheel barrows and bins with soil to deliver to our growers houses, over the course of the morning we managed to fill the raised beds of three of our new Congolese growers beds with soil, this was a tricky task using a small hobby wheel barrow and an old school black plastic dustbin being pulled on an ex-B&Q shopping trolley with wonky wheels, but we persevered and got the job done before lunch time. In the afternoon we visited various growers houses up and down the roads and avenues of Breightmet to see how things were going for them, I also made a short video of one of growers that you can watch here.

Our growers

After we finished filling the raised beds of our new growers we walked the short distance up to the UCAN centre and grabbed a quick brew in the break in the yarden to the rear of the centre, we then visited a few more growers and took some pics of their gardens whilst we were out and about.
