get growing Breightmet 1st July

Before I go into the work we have been doing today, I apologize in advance for the lack of photos, my camera has suddenly decided that it doesn’t want to work anymore, I guess that’s built in obsolescence for you.

Today has been another extreme scorcher, so much of our work has been at a steady pace to avoid passing out or falling over. In the morning I threw pellets of Lion poo into the raised beds of our growers and poured water on them to activate the scent to deter the moggies from crapping in them, I have to say I have never seen an area like Breightmet where there are so many cats, a place of true cat lovers. Whilst pelleting the beds I also dropped off pots of main crop strawberries and beans. In the afternoon as the heat ramped up I spent my time visiting and raiding a local garden centre for reduced priced tomato and pepper plants, and pushed a wheelbarrow up and down the hills of Breightmet, dropping off bits and pieces of gardening kit. Not a bad day really despite the fierce heat and lack of breeze.
