Get growing Breightmet 9th June

Another great start to the day, sun shining, gentle warm wind and not a cloud in sight, sorted! Our work today has almost entirely been about wheel-barrowing plants up and down the hills of Breightmet’s housing estate, dropping off plants at our growers houses for them to plant on, and for those with no gardening experience whatsoever we showed people to plant on the over sized seedlings. Below is a series of pictures of our growers raised beds and gardens taken during the course of today.

One of our growers has really got the gardening bug, initially we put one raised beds in each garden, this family now have three and a walk in greenhouse, good on them!

This bed belongs to a lovely Polish couple who live on the estate, though both of them work a lot of hours, they have made a real effort with their growing during their spare time.

This family of growers are seldom at home so we planted courgettes, broccoli and beans whilst they were out.

Micks garden is a mixed bag of pots, fruit bushes and two raised beds, today we planted some runner beans in his front garden.

Martin has also got the gardening bug and had added a further three raised to beds to his garden.
