Growing clinic @ Beechcroft community allotments 11th April

Todays session was split into two, in the first bit of the session we dug up parsnips and turnips which were divided between some of the plot holders who were going to use them to add to their Sunday dinners tomorrow.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA As with Red Lane community allotments I also gave out some different types of seeds for growers on the site to trial this season and experiment with different ways of using the produce.

Workshops

The second part of todays session consisted of us sitting down with a pen and paper and running through the type of workshops and activities that community members would like me to run for this seasons activities, we now have a workshop planned for each of the sessions running right the way through til October, these workshops will include: making wildflower seedbombs, cold pickling methods, a  brick built rocket stove with pizza oven, general pickling, making healthy drinks, and general seasonal one pot cooking.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
