Community Roots Permaculture project

There is no such thing as a “self-made” man. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts.  George Matthew Adams

On a good many occasions When ever Ive mentioned our project site in blog posts, I’ve referred to it as ‘the old disused tennis courts’ but now that they are no longer tennis courts and have been transformed into a functioning growing area and work space, we though that it was time that our site had a proper name instead of the Old Tennis Courts. The name of our project is Community Roots Permaculture Project, this name was chosen to reflect the fact we intend to try and build long lasting relationships and inter-connections with our local community. For our part will not allow the blatant structured food poverty to continue, a poverty that is being imposed on millions of the poorest people in the UK, and if you have a space to grow food, we will help you!

As we move closer towards the impending winter a good deal of movement is happening, as mentioned above we now have a name and will also be in receipt of some funding during the next few weeks which will enable us to fully put in place our infrastructure and become and outdoor accredited learning centre, Rick who shares a part of the site has received funding for his growing project, this will enable him to build and open up his project to people with learning difficulties whom Rick has worked with for a while, Rick will provide a space where people can grow and garden in a safe environment.

COMMUNITY ROOTS FLYER - FINISHED ONE!
